1Starscream growled in annoyance as Soundwave once again blocked his path to the control room of the Nemesis. Turning in disgust, he said gruffly, “I’ll be on patrol if LORD Megatron requires me.” The ever silent communications officer nodded, but made no other sign that he was more than a statue.
The slender frame of the Decepticon made little to no impact as he transformed back to his robot mode upon landing. His long fingers rested along his face as he gazed about the small desert area lazily, pondering what to do while he was cooling off from his near outburst on the ship. His spark was blazing with outrage at the treatment he had received since Megatron’s revival and he could NOT take much more of it without at least satisfying his sadistic side by taking out his anger on some unsuspecting Autobot or local creature. Finally his scarlet optics landed on a group of three very familiar looking humans and a menacing smirk spread slowly across his faceplates.
Jack, Miko, and Rafael were gathering some samples from the local desert for science class. Jack’s mom had dropped them off, reluctantly, but she’d left after Miko had promised to call her guardian Autobot, Bulkhead, if anything happened. Just as the kids finally found the last type of rock on their list, a thin shadow fell over them as a voice sent shivers through their hearts, “Oh, look. It’s the little vermin.” Jack immediately whispered, “Run!” and the trio took off in different directions, their legs sprinting for all they were worth, running for their lives. Starscream smiled a little wider and leapt elegantly into the sky, going off after the obvious leader first.
Jack crouched behind a boulder and tried desperately to get an answer on his cell from Optimus, Arcee, Bumblebee, or even his mother. No signal. He silently cursed the lack of cell towers in the desert and tried to slow his ragged breathing from his breakneck race across the dusty ground. Running his fingers through his black hair, the teen considered how best to get away from the Decepticon, his brown eyes darting here and there as he visualized. However, he had but a moment until a familiar noise of shifting metal made his blood freeze and a hand scooped him out of his spot. Struggling in the sharp metallic grip, he heard his clothes tear in a few places as he yelled, “Get your hands OFF ME, Starscream!” His captor smirked and cooed, “Oh, but then what would you do? You’d surely be injured after falling this height, at least enough to prevent escape. Am I right?” The tone in that final question made it clear that there was no hope for him, but the brave teen said loudly, “Well, at least let the others go. You only need one hostage to get the Autobots to come here.” A small, dark chuckle made Jack go white, and the words after it made the world start spinning, “Oh, but who said anything about hostages?” The seemingly delicate structure of the seeker’s hand held the now terrified human in place as Starscream opened his fingers as he explained, “I’ve been having a bit of trouble with…certain personages getting in my way lately. So I thought that you little squishies would be kind enough to help me indulge myself a bit. After all, what else are you good for? Certainly not protecting yourself…or your friends for that matter.” The teen under his thumb felt the bottom drop out of his stomach as he realized that he was the first to go but would be unable to warn Miko and Raf. He had to stop struggling for a moment as he asked angrily, “If you’re not going to keep me as a hostage, what ARE you going to do with me?” Starscream’s optics glinted evilly as he replied, “Oh, you’ll see soon enough.”
Miko had gone the farthest from the starting point, managing to get a staticy call out, “BULKHEAD! No time. Starscream found us in the desert and we got separated. Come get us NOW!” Before her guardian could answer, she hung up and secured her phone as a periscope to scan over the lip of the indention in the cliffs that she’d hidden in. Out in the distance to her left, she saw a vague outline of something tall and thin, knowing that she was seeing her pursuer. After a few minutes of standing relatively still, the enemy started moving again, this time heading slowly toward the far right, obviously going in the same direction as Raf. Miko brought her phone down again and clutched it tightly to her chest, whispering desperately, “Please come quick, Bulkhead.”
The youngest of the kids had managed to wriggle into a hole recently vacated by a large tortoise. Raf shivered from shock in the darkness, wishing he’d brought Bumblebee with him instead of agreeing to go alone with the other kids. The clicking of Starscream’s feet against the ground came closer and the small child put his hands over his mouth to further muffle his breathing. Unfortunately, the disturbed dirt around the mouth of the hole gave him away, and two long metallic fingers snatched him out of his hiding place by the back of his shirt.
From her hiding place, Miko watched as Starscream toyed with Raf a bit, poking him while dangling the small boy from his talons. She quickly ducked back down and shuddered against the bottom of her little hidey hole, flat on her back and wishing as hard as could for the Autobots to come save them. There was nothing she could do except hide, and she did so even as the grate of metal on metal came closer and closer across the barren land.
часть 2Starscream followed the obvious footprints of the last human child up to the face of a cliff, then began looking over each nook and cranny to find his final plaything. A soft whimpering reached his audio receptors and he followed the sound to a crevice just barely large enough for a human to fit through. Smirking, he used one of his fingers to swiftly scoop out the indention. Miko clung to his finger for dear life as she was dangling at least 30 feet in the air. Starscream set the girl down on his palm and said in a sickeningly fake sweetness, “Oh, poor thing. You must be so scared, what with your friends not being with you. Allow me to bring them back.” He fiddled with a panel on his chest, which then opened as the two boys came tumbling out to join Miko. Their malicious captor said simply, “Aren’t pockets handy? Well, now that you’re all here, the party can begin.” The three kids huddled together on his palm as Starscream walked around to find a place to rest. Finally finding a shady spot behind Miko’s cliff, the Decepticon leisurely eyed his captives after taking a seat. The three kids stayed silent, Jack holding the other two behind him protectively. A small wicked smile crept onto Starscream’s face and he teased Jack away from the others. Holding the teen in front of his face he said cruelly, “Since you’re so eager to put yourself in front, you’ll be first.”
The Decepticon closed his fist around the other two humans as they wailed for their friend, making sure they did not escape. Jack struggled in his grip, but Starscream didn’t bother wasting further words with the fleshling. His glossa carefully accepted the human as he lowered it into his mouth, enjoying the horrified and confused screaming. The other, smaller ones in his hand were squealing horrendously, but the seeker was more interested in the struggles of the one in his mouth. Writhing in terror, Jack was trying to force his captor to spit him out, but nothing seemed to be happening. Starscream began pushing the human about a bit, almost laughing at the futile efforts to escape. Deciding to play with his prey, Starscream tipped his head back and smirked as the fleshling scrambled desperately to avoid falling backward into the dark abyss. He waited a while until the human had calmed slightly then swallowed very slightly, grinning a little at the immediate panic inside his mouth. Finally tiring of this first victim, Starscream swallowed harder, sighing a little from the pleasure of the wriggling body sliding down his throat. He brushed his free hand against the bulging part of his neck, further annoying the little creature inside until he slid under his collar and out of reach. A stunned silence had fallen over his other captives, but the seeker paid it no mind and instead began to ponder which of them to take next.
Jack was sobbing as he was forced further down into the heat of the decepticon’s body, the slick walls of the throat pressing in on him tightly. He was never going to see his mother again, or Arcee, or anyone…except the two friends who were about to meet the same fate as him. He was too young to die, especially like this. There was a loud, pulsing, buzzing noise, which, if Jack had not been in complete terror-filled panic, he would have realized was the sound of Starscream’s spark. Instead, the boy simply continued his complete freak out. He was finally dumped unceremoniously into a large space, and after many failed attempts to get up and run like a moron, Jack finally ran out of energy and collapsed on the oddly flexible floor. He panted several times before realizing that he wasn’t burning or loosing consciousness. He could breathe easily, but even though it was a small comfort, Jack did not forget where he was.
Starscream had chosen to further torment the female by making her watch what happened to the youngest of the group. Humans were such pathetically weak sparked creatures. The little male was less than a mouthful, but it was more fun to see and hear the girl’s distress as Starscream played with them both. Knowing the impact it would have on the girl, the seeker gulped down the little morsel in his mouth, being purposefully loud about it as he watched the reaction from his last captive out of one eye. She screamed and cried out pitifully, trying vainly to cause some damage to his hand with her tiny, soft fists. Something suddenly stuck in his throat, forcing him to work up a little saliva to get rid of the offending object, whatever it was.
Jack had crawled over the bizarre surface of the floor to lean against the wall and analyze his situation. The space was small and constantly flexing slightly, and it was also very wet and warm. Since he’d landed, a small amount of fluid had gathered in the chamber, but it still wasn’t doing any damage to him or his clothes. He was examining the ceiling as best he could in the dark when he saw something small fall from the opening above him. He heard coughing and whimpering, then asked softly, “Which one of you is it?” The weak, broken voice answered back, “I-It’s m-me.” Jack quickly crawled over and pulled Raph up against him as he said, “Thank goodness you got down in one piece. I was scared he’d start ripping us up next.” The little boy held tight to his older friend and said sadly, “I l-lost my g-glasses halfway down.” Jack was about to comfort him when something smacked the top of his head. He felt around and found it, saying in surprise, “Well, even though it’s dark, I think you’ll feel better with these.” Raph gave a weak smile after Jack handed him his glasses, now covered in the same slime they were. The two of them crawled back to the wall as Jack muttered, “We’d better get out of the way before Miko comes down or she’ll brain us both.”
Finding himself alone with the girl now, Starscream said mockingly, “Well, hasn’t this been a fun little adventure? Oh, but you don’t seem excited. I thought humans liked new experiences. Oh well, no sense leaving you in suspense.” Miko screamed at the top of her lungs and began thrashing like a mad woman, but the Seeker was having none of it. He quickly stuck her in his mouth and pinned her against the roof with his glossa. Only a little pressure had to be applied before she stopped moving, and the seeker felt very satisfied that he’d proven his superiority to these weak creatures. Now, all that was left was to finish the job. Lazily looking at the sky, he let go of the girl and she slid. Reflexes kicked in and soon enough Starscream was alone in the desert. The warmth of the air and the cool of the rocks behind him mingled nicely, finally lulling the seeker into a very happy recharge.
